Have you ever wondered what Jesus thought about time? Each person in the Quantum Age is more aware of time than at any time in history. We have alarms to wake us up, calendars to remind us of appointments, and TV programs that have set times to be shown. Scientists measure time to the billionth of a second to keep the digital age in sync. But Jesus lived a different life. He never heard the ticking of a clock or read a sundial. When Jesus lived, time was measured by the sun, moon, and seasons. In spite of this, he knew much about time and how to live it. Jesus taught that every second of our life is full of meaning.

As the gospel of John narrates the encounter, Jesus was in trouble with the religious leaders. He had done a great miracle at Jerusalem’s Pool of Bethesda, healing a man who had been disabled 38 years. The authorities condemned the action because it was done on the wrong day of the week, the sacred Sabbath. Jesus seized the moment to teach about time in the redemptive work of God. He said, “My Father is still working, and I also am working.” This teaching declares a revolutionary truth about God.

Process theology provides an exciting view of God’s work in the Quantum Age that parallels what Jesus taught…. Process philosophy and theology believe science, art, sacred writings, research, and culture can be channels of divine communication. Inspired truth can be found in all areas of life. All constructive advances in human knowledge and endeavor flow from the generative work of God…. The work of God connecting humans to divine purpose and love reached a new depth in Jesus…. Process Theology offers a Quantum Age insight for the unique experience of Jesus of Nazareth. This Jewish man collaborated with the God who is relentlessly in connection with all creatures of the universe in a transformative way. Jesus’ awareness of God pervaded every facet of his experience. His complex psychology, the same as all humans, brought a unity of life with the God as understood in the Jewish community of the first century….
