DEJA VU FOR YOU!
Summer is a time for reruns and busy schedules for many people. The TFJ Network will be following this pattern for the next few weeks. This month’s hot weather brings an invitation to enjoy two of the most popular podcasts.
One probes a topic that is in the news now: Christian Nationalism. You will be shocked at the goals of this movement. It has only grown more vocal since this episode from 2022. This summer is an important time for a refresh with the episode, “Can We Love God and America?”
The second episode is more personal. At this moment of reading and sitting in front of your screen, you are experiencing an emotion. What is an “emotion,” really? Science has probed the phases of emotion, while theology opens further insights for faith. Listen to gain helps for your emotional world in the episode, “I Feel Like.”

The Episode begins…
“On January 6, 2021 I joined millions to watch on live TV the U.S. Senate ratify the 2020 Electoral College vote. Then the unthinkable happened. The screen showed thousands of rioters surging toward the Capitol Building. Soon, the terrorists were inside. You know the terrible results with deaths, property destruction, impeachment, and criminal indictments. The fall-out will continue for years.
Shocking to many people were the religious factors in this attempted overthrow of a legitimate election. Where did this fervor originate? Lying behind this religious movement is a belief in Christian Nationalism.
In this episode of TFJ I want to explore this potent mixture of God and Country. Can we love God and America?”

The episode begins…
“‘What are you feeling right now?’ That’s a simple question. But offering an answer can plunge us into profound experiences.
Cindy grew up in a home where she wasn’t permitted to feel anything. She had all of the five senses, of course, and, oh, how she could see and hear and feel the messages from her parents. “You’re not hurt so quit crying!” “If you’re afraid while we’re at the party tonight just sing a song.” “Don’t be sad. We’ll just buy another dog.” In the years that followed she learned it helped to pretend like she was happy, which made other people happy. If some feeling got too strong she could feel better by playing a video game. That worked okay until the day her brother died in a horrific car wreck and the fire that turned his pickup into a blackened wreck. After that, the happiness didn’t come back.
What are you feeling right now?
On this episode of Tracks for the Journey let’s explore our emotions. You have some right now and you will every moment of this day. What do they mean for your mind, body, and soul?”
